Measured drawings

I'm sooo excited, I bought this book yesterday, it's quite expensive and there are three more I need to buy one day (they are also not cheap - about 70$), but it's worth it.
This book called "European Furniture. Measured Drawings", originally they were published in 1940-50s in USSR and now reprinted. The main thing I'm happy about is that the authors used metric system ( to be honest, I still can't get used to inches, especially when I use projects from woodworking mags).

Anyway, the drawings are perfect - there are almost all periods you need - from viking's furniture :))) to art nouveau and 1970s furniture. There's an album with art nouveau drawings, I want it really bad, but decided against buying it for now, besides I've found four nouveau projects in my book.

I hope I'll start working on some new pieces from this book very soon.

Victoria I just became a follower of your blog. It is a wonderful blog. I saw the book but that is in Russian. Where can I buy this book? I live in the Netherlands. I've just started a blog and building a Victorian doll house and I want to make the most things myself with help of my husband.

Hi Dorien! Welcome to my blog!Yes, this book in Russian only, the author is Russian. I'm afraid you can only buy it in my country, I've never seen it selling abroad. Have you tried buying some English measured drawings? I bought several from Amazon, mostly they are for advanced readers, but some are very good. About miniature furniture - I bought one excellent book - The Art of making furniture in miniature by Harry W. Smith. It's a very good book if you want to make any kind of furniture by yourself. The first part is theory - what kind of equipment and materials you need, the second part - lost of projects, including Victorian ones.

Thank you Victoria for your quick answer. I'm going to explore and wish I can find the book from Mr.Smith. I've put your blog in my blog...Do you give me your permission to do that? If not I can delete it.

Oh, I don't mind you putting my blog at yours at all:) Thank you for that!
I bought Harry W. Smith's book at Scott publications site, here - http://scottpublications.com/catalog/
There's a category there -Miniature Books.

I received my book today. It's a wonderful book and the descriptions are clear. I could order it in the Netherlands so that saved me a lot of shipping costs. Thank you for your help.
